Students in Custer SD Helping Shuck Corn for School Lunch
Fifth grade students in Custer SD helped shuck corn that was served the next day in school lunch. The corn was locally procured from the Black Hills area, Keil Farms in Belle Fourche. Lunchtime Solutions Food Service Director Brandy Popken coordinated the interactive learning, and the hot vegetable serving the next day at lunch. Elementary School Kitchen Manager Kim Elliott worked directly with students also in the shucking.
